Bye Bye Baldrick!

After 3 years as a member of our family.... Baldrick has been re-adopted. I loved that little MINI. A lot of good times. It was really a bitter sweet parting moment. As I said goodbye and Rob, his new owner said hello. He drove from Kalispell Montana to collect him. I am sure he will be well loved and have many MINI adventures with Rob and his family.

Portland ABFM

Rowan and I took my son Reiley on our yearly pilgrimage to the Portland All British Field Meet. On Friday Morning August 29th we meet up with 3 other Mini's (1 MK1 Saloon, 1 Innocenti, and 1 MK1 Tinny Wagon), 2 BINI's (Both standard Coopers), 1 MG TF, and a Series 1 Land Rover. Our route was very scenic with lots of twisties and some uncertain road conditions (namely Forest Service Road 25 had areas which had been marked for repair but you drove not really knowing what was around the next corner).

Northwest MINI was a gracious host, providing us with Muffins, Coffee, and Orange Juice, and a nice lot to gather and socialize. Right out of the gate Rowan was having issues though. She was bogging Down under any sort of acceleration. (Something that has been an intermittent issue since I have owned her). James took a look at under her bonnet and yelled out to me..... Your Dashpot is bone dry...... Who knew that there was suppose to be oil in it.

We had a fantastic time. I forgot to take our camera so any and all pictures are being hijacked from what ever sources I can find.

Pirate Chase!

I was watching Family Guy yesterday evening and there was a scene with a Mini.... I was laughing SO HARD!

I don't thing the American Boat that Peter was driving was any match for the Mini Though.

I just love Minis!

Meet Baldrick

Meet Baldrick!

He’s a happy go lucky 2002 MINI Cooper. Baldrick enjoys sunny days winding through the country side feeling the wind rushing through his grill and tickling his antenna. His motto is “Show me a twisty road, and I’ll show you a good time.” He likes a sudsy sponge bath and a good shine before hanging out with his friends at Mini Meets and impromptu gatherings.

What sets him apart from his other MINI friends is having the distinction of being one of the very First MINI’s sold here in North America. You see our neighbors up North were given the opportunity to adopt a MINI before we were here in the USA. Baldrick is very proud (And he will tell you so) to be # 215 out of the limited 500 Canadian Launch Edition MINI’s! A title he so proudly displays on his tachometer (See Picture).

Baldrick sports under 74,000 Miles (since he is Canadian his odometer is reading in Kilometers at 122K). Many of which have been in the company of other new and classic Mini’s exploring the country side. As with any pre-loved (Not a term taken for granted when referenced to a MINI) car he has his quirks and his blemishes. For example his odometer is in KM and I can’t seem to change it. However his outside temperature gauge is in Fahrenheit. He has a scratch just behind his driver’s side door that was given to him by his (at the time) 3 year old family member who was so proud to be riding a big girl bike with training wheels. His Bonnet ((Hood) as its called here in America) chips from rocks and his windscreen (windshield) shows evidence of 4 rock dings of which 2 have been “repaired”, and one has turned into a crack. Interestingly enough he does not like Jeep Cherokee’s as 3 of those windscreen dings came from following them on different occasions. He was also bruised on the Roof by a falling tree branch and has requested I not to park underneath them. I of course being a loving owner has since obliged. The Leatherette on the driver’s side Recaro made seat is cracking on the outside.

Baldrick Drinks 92 Octane and Averages 32-38 Miles per Gallon. He Also gets treated with Synthetic Oil and has been given changes (whether he needed them or not) according to the BMW Owner Manual. He still has 8700 miles before his next change.

Baldrick has heated driver’s and passengers seats, heated side mirrors, and a heated windshield washer bottle. He likes to keep cans of soda nicely chilled in his conditioned glove box. He also has a sports suspension and run flat tires.

Adopt him and see him bring smiles and miles of driving enjoyment to you and your friends and family. You can’t get behind the wheel of a MINI and be in a bad mood.

He is Currently Visiting Family in Renton Washington. So Call Me To Arrange a Time to See Him.Bring Him Home Today for $12,000. As an added bonus the owner will get to take a Nice Spirited Romp in “Rowan”… the Turbo Charged 71 Classic Mini Clubman.

Thanks and Happy MINI Driving!
